Meet Joanne
We contain multitudes, and we are meant to.
I am a psychologist, but also an artist, dancer, traveler, coffee aficionado, reader, fitness enthusiast, sister, and friend. I see life as our most important creation, and I am deeply passionate about helping people design theirs through the art and science of psychology.
I work with often overwhelmed humans who want to build habits, mindsets, and systems that genuinely support their well being and personal fulfillment, not just their productivity. Whether you are beginning a wellness journey, recovering from burnout, cultivating personal growth, or simply longing for more intentionality, we work together to move from living by default to living by design.
“My mission is to help others become the designers of their own lives through evidence based tools, thoughtful structure, and unconditional encouragement.”
My approach
What therapy looks like with me.
I work primarily with adults navigating four common areas. Select one to see what the experience often feels like and how we approach it together.
Anxiety
What it can look like
- Persistent worry, racing thoughts, or overthinking
- Restlessness, irritability, or trouble sleeping
- Avoiding situations that feel uncertain or evaluative
- Physical symptoms such as tension, fatigue, or stomach issues
How we work together
Together we use CBT and ACT to map the patterns fueling your anxiety, build practical tools to respond differently in the moment, and shift your relationship with discomfort so it stops dictating your choices.
Depression
What it can look like
- Low mood, low motivation, or a sense of going through the motions
- Loss of interest in things that used to feel meaningful
- Heavy self criticism or feelings of worthlessness
- Changes in sleep, energy, appetite, or focus
How we work together
Therapy focuses on behavioral activation, restructuring unhelpful thinking, and reconnecting you with values based action, so that small daily choices begin to rebuild momentum and meaning.
Self Esteem
What it can look like
- Harsh inner critic or perfectionistic standards
- Difficulty receiving feedback or compliments
- Comparing yourself to others and coming up short
- Looking accomplished on paper while feeling empty inside
How we work together
We work to soften the inner critic, rebuild a more honest and compassionate self narrative, and strengthen a sense of self that does not depend on external achievement.
Behavior Change
What it can look like
- A gap between what you say you want and what you actually do
- Cycles of motivation and burnout
- Difficulty building or sustaining habits
- Wanting more intention around health, work, or relationships
How we work together
Using habit science and Positive Psychology, we design small, consistent systems that fit your real life, build identity through repetition, and make the desired behavior the easier choice.
